I just got a new tattoo put on my upper back between the shoulders. Will this effect my back and shoulder workouts at all? I just wanted to know if anyone else has been in that situation and can tell me if I need to rest it a few days or I can go ahead and hit the weights.

Thanks guys and gals!

I have a tattoo on my upper arm. The only problem I had was rubbing. It would probably be a good idea to put some polysporin on it so your sweet dosn't bother it, you may also want to cover it with some gauze while you work out.

WOW!!! I put one post and get one good answer out of all 12!! LOL! I guess one is better than none eh?

So all know, it was a raven's feather with roses in the middle.

But I do have a wolf with rose vines surrounding it going up the my lower back to the middle of my back. Looks sweet with the combination.

ngower - thanks for the advice, I was worried about doing back and shoulder exercises. Right now I am putting A&D ointment on it to keep anything from getting into it.

carivan and "PP" - your day is coming...LOL

mrmagical - eh again?

oh yeah, carivan i love german shepherds, I had one named Romeo. unfortunately he passed away.

We now have German Shorthaired Pointers for home pets as well as hunting dogs, brother and sister named Odin and Eyota. But I still love Shepherds, my favorites. I Love german bred dogs.

and "PP" (oops, it is Dp, i forgot) Ravenwolf got a sweet dragon standing on a rock with chinese dragon symbol inlaid in the rock on left arm.

Sounds like you have a nice tatoo. I appreciate the art but wouldn't get one for myself. I am amazed at some of the work. Hope you like it...But why get it ther? You can't see it?
Wait till they come out with 3d tatoos! There go the meds again! What about putting aloe on the tatoo?

aloe is another good treatment, so is, vitamin E or unscented lotion to keep it from drying out. As far as getting it there, tattoos to me are to show off the beauty of art on ones body, it is in a place where everyone can see it when wearing tank tops and low cut backs on blouses and such, it really looks beautiful. I know what you mean about not getting one yourself, i was like that for a long time and once i got one, whooaa do they become addicting..LOL

i now have three, either with native american work or roses or both combined. I try to make sure that they still have a feminine look to them so as to not take the soft side away from me. 3D tattoos..LOL I WISH!!! LOL

Geez, what I do? I thought Carivan stepped on it, not me. lol Don't tell me that PP thing is going to stick? Anyway, regarding tattoos, to each his/her own. Myself, I don't ever see myself getting one.

Y'know, you can use pile cream instead of a face lift, cos it basically stretches the skin...not that i've tried it!

as a tattoo artist i can tell all of you new tattoos use A&D diaper ointment or bactatratin (spelling all wrong but you can figure it out).older ones use lotion after two days most people have healed enough to work out.DO NOT cover any tattoo up as your sweat will dry and crystalize in your pores.think of it as glass shards in rope it will tear and destroy your art no matter how old it is.the best way to cover them is only for first hour after it is done .that is only to hold in heat and plasma to start the healing process

RB, I have one in exactly the same place! :)

I need to have it touched up bad though(had it for almost ten years). Maybe I'll add to it a little while I'm there. :)
