Hi, I just recently starting using the lower back machine at the gym and was wondering if I should push back to the point of where my back/spine stops me or stop somewhere earlier in the motion?

Thanks

You should be able to set the hyper machine to where your back hyperextends just past parallel. The idea with this is not weight, it is to strengthen the lower back. You want a nice, smooth easy movement, with just enough resistance to "feel" it. You are not going to build big muscle there anyway, that is not what it is for.
