Hello I am a 43 year old male who has rarely strength trained in my life. Two years ago I weighed in at 296. I am 6' tall. Thanks to Freetrainers and a committment to get healthy I now weigh 245. I have been serious in my weight training for about 8 months now. I follow the progressive gains routien for me from F.T. I know I am putting on some muscle. My Question is how long does it take to gain enough muscle to look like I work out. I love working out and believe I will never quit.

Wow! Congratulations! 50 pounds is a big deal!
Keep working out and getting leaner and soon you will look like you put the time in. Make sure you are pushing yourself in the weight room and try focusing your mind on the working muscles.
have you tried HIIT for cardio? It seems to really peel the fat off of your muscles to bring definition.
Look in the FAQs section or do a fit buddy search for info on HIIT.

Congrats on reaching your goal! Your a success story! To get the look you desire, you have to become leaner like Amy said. Just a 1/4 inch of fat hides the nice look you are going to get soon.
-------------- Scales are for dead weight: We are not dead yet!
Still trying to find out how to do the Hollywood Free Press.
