I'm 5'5", 140lbs, size 5/6 and pretty muscular. My midsection isnt as toned as I would like it, so I feel like i need to do a lot of cardio to burn off the "flab", so i do cardio 5 times a week, 45 min a day, is that too much?? I also weight train almost every day. Is it possible for the "flab" in the middle to be just extra skin from what I was a size 16??? I know there's no such thing as spot training, but what can i do to tone that up?

how is your diet? you could do cardio all day until your legs fall off, but if your diet is crap, you will never achieve what you want. usually the last little bit of flab is hardest to lose, and relates to diet more than cardio.
what kind of cardio are you doing? high intensity, short duration will be most effective at burning off excess flab.. we need some more info to help you

bropie has beat me to it once again.
diet and HIGH intensity sweat dripping cardio will more than likely take care of the toning unless you have had children and sometimes that doesn't always go away.
good luck.

Thanks guys! I do intense cardio, 20 min on each machine, at the very least 2 machines a day, mostly the arch trainer, stair climber, elliptical and bike, im not much of a runner. my diet is pretty good, carbs in the morning, and small meals through out the day, including lots of chicken, tuna and veggies, and a protien shake once a day after i work out, but i do have a cheat day about once a week. do you think if i took in 2 protien shakes a day, it would help? i dont want to get bulky...just toned and defined.

its possible that if you lost alot of weight very fast, your skin may be loose, and yes, flabby around your midsection.how long ago were you a size 16? in terms of your cheat day, try to limit it to a cheat MEAL instead.. an entire day of bad eating will be far worse than a single meal. i dont think taking 2 protein shakes a day would do the trick.. how long have you been doing this cardio circuit? remember results wont come overnight.

as Bropie said...make it a cheat meal rather then a cheat day. I love my cheat meal...however I understand that as I get closer to my goals I will have to tighten down on the portion size of my cheat meal...inevitably giving it up for good...of course that is for an undetermined long term goal.
Otherwise if it's extra skin then there's only a few ways to make that less visible. 1)TIME and keeping it hydrated, 2)back/butt workouts (broader more muscular back will pull the skin a bit), 3)Surgery (the last option if you ask me).
Stick to the first 2 and let time do it's thing. The skin didn't stretch over night and it's not going to go back over night.
