Hi there-

I was wondering if my workout is too much.
I run 20 min on the treadmill and walk 10 minutes 5 days a week. Two days a week I do legs (6 various machines) and Two other days I do arms (6 various machines). I alternate arms and legs days.

In general, how do you feel? I think that if your goal is to lose weight, then I really don't see anything wrong with your routine. If I might suggest, however, substitute your normal treadmill routine with an occasional HIIT routine.

hmmmmm only legs and arms? no chest, shoulders, back?

For the treadmill how intense is it?
how many sets of the excercises are you doing?

Hi-

BigAndrew- I am doing chest shoulders and all. I just basically break it down in my mind- lower half legs- upper half arms :-). I do 3 sets of 12 to 15 on each exercise.

sivy the easy answer is by yourself and is what you're doing working. With your rep range you obviously aren't trying to bulk up and if works for you and you aren't injuring yourself go for it. I don't like pure cardio so will cycle in some circuit training and often do 6 days a week. When I'm really obsessing, I'll do the main body parts in the morning and go back out and do what's left in the afternoon. :) But then I'm not built like Ron either (BB1fit).

Your cardio is fine. I would recommend that you do 5 min walk, 20 min jog, and 5 minute walk to allow for warmup and cool down. Also you should be able to hit legs all in one day, so just drop your cardio for that day. Just like andrew was stating though, you want to hit everything, chest, shoulders, back, etc. Normally you can do that on a 3 day split routine pretty easily.
good luck.
Mike hit it on the spot though. I'm sure bb1 will chime in soon.
