well depends........some body parts already have "endurance" hard wired in them....legs being agood example.....they can take a pretty good pounding......however they can also generate alot of force.......training will depend on how "fast" or "slow" they are.

Theres alot for muscle fibers I conceder "grey area" meaning then can change as needed....for adaptation.

You can test the muscle with a biopsy or alternatively do the following test.

Find your 1RM on any given exercise. Now after sufficient rest perform max reps with 75% of you 1RM using the same form as the 1 rm test.

The higher the reps you get means the higher % of slow twitch fibres for that muscle. So if you rep out 8 @ 75% of 1RM this indicates about 30% slow twitch. If you get 16reps then this is 30% fast twitch.

Train the slow twitch with fewer sets and higher repititions and the fast twitch with more sets of higher intenstiy(lower reps).
