Hello everyone, newbie here, lol. I've just joined this site and I think it's great! I've just one question: can anyone give me advice on how to shrink th size of my hips? I know you can't spot-reduce... I tried a few exercises for your hps but they made me bigger (for a while I couldn't fit into my hip-hugger pants, lol). Would just all-around strength training and cardio work?

Hello,
Great to have you here. Yes, strength training and cardio will work, but you also need to take a look at your diet and possibly clean it up.
Use fitbuddy at the bottom of the page, there have been tons of posts on this. One fairly recently that has great information in it from Menace3000
Good luck,
Leslie

shampoo exercised her way out of her pants. <forgive me lord for taking that wrong> :) You probably added muscle in the hip region, but didn't lower your overall body fat so therefore you became bigger in that region. It really depends on your current size measurements whether that's a good or bad thing really. Cardio will probably be your best bet coupled with a restrictive, but sensible diet.
Here is the link to another hips post.

There was another post about a girl doing too many eliptical and stair climbers and losing her hip width. She basically built up her glutes, and did cardio at the same time lowering her bodyfat, so therefore she lost her flared hips in the process. she acquired a SKINNY shelf butt, but wanted a flared GHETTO butt.

good luck and welcome to the forum.
