You'll get there!
Remember - it took you 9 months to get to full-baby-carrying-size, it's going to take some time for your streched skinto recover.
Patience, my dear girl, is key!

Sounds like you'll be just fine. It's only been 3-4 months so don't be too hard on yourself!

Hi Kat! I had a baby in Feb too - my fourth actually - and I need to lose a bit more than some extra skin. If you follow one of the plans on this site, I am sure you will achieve your goals.

I begin tomorrow and am looking forward to see where I am in 8wks. I am going to start eating clean too - a HUGE thing for me because I am a snack monster :(

Anyhow, if you need/want a buddy, let me know. I would be happy to hear about your progress. :)

Btw, what did you have and what day in Feb? We had a boy on the 7th.

I had a little boy in february too. On valentines day actually. He was just over 9lbs and I gained close to 50. I have lost all my baby weight through eating healthy, but now I'm starting to exercise to get rid of what I gained with my first son. lol In my instance eating healthy and breastfeeding was what did it for me. I'm excited to get to the next step and try for a prebaby body! Alright as close as I can get. lol

Wow, a weight training forum topic on new moms?! This is great. I too had a baby just after the first of the year, Jan. 12th actually. My boy is 6 months old now and I have lost most of my baby weight due to breastfeeding, but have since stopped nursing and the weight is coming back on!! AHHH! I would love to hear about everyone's progress! I just started on a 3-day fitness routines at our local gym and have been on it for a week, Between that and practically cutting out my fast food running, its quite a jotl to the system! Good luck to all y'all!

I had a baby on February 3rd. I followed the routine in Basic Body Sculpting for Women. I'm about my normal size, but my metabolism is definitely slower. How long does it take for things to go back to normal? Or, do I have a different normal now? I weigh more, but I'm fitting well in my clothes. I'm a little more muscular than before from all this weight-lifting, I think.

I had twins March 22 2004 via c-section. They are 18 months old now (they were pretty big for twins 6lbs 4oz and 5lbs 7oz). I'm still trying to loose the extra skin. Exercise and healthy diet has helped drastically. The best advice I have for all you moms is stick with your program. Weight training, cardio, and healthy eating will not only help you feel better, but it will help you look better. It takes time and effort. No excuses. I work part time, take care of my boys full time, do all household chores, and still make time for a weight training and cardio session six days per week. While my husband is a very good husband he really doesn't help out all that much. I also suffered from post partum depression really bad and exercise has helped me in that department so much that I will be starting to wean from my antidepressant at my next dr. appt. Patience my dears.

Oh, another thing I want to mention is that my breasts sagged so bad when I quit breastfeeding (at 8 months post partum). With all the exercise and healthy eating, they have really perked up and look like they did (almost) before I got pregnant (aside from the stretch marks). I just mentioned that because I'm hoping it will keep some of you moms motivated.

I had a baby 11 weeks ago and I weigh less than I did before I had him, all through eating healthily and exercising. IwaS aolso diagnosed with Postnatal depression, I have a tendency to it as I had a purperal phsycosis with my first. however exercise has kept me focused and positive and done wonders for my state of mind. I just wish I could get rid of the 'apron' like thing that is now my lower abs lol, any ideas??

Hi all,
I am new here and I had my second baby about 13 months ago. I just stopped breastfeeding a month ago and now I am stuck with my baby weight. Breastfeeding helped me loose weight quickly for the first month but then it stopped. I eat pretty helthy and just need to find time to exercise. Last weeekend I had stanger asked me if I am expecting! Ouch! That really makes me want to start exercise and do something quick. Both of my babies were 9 pounders and I am only 5 foot 2 so I gained a lot of weight(35-40lbs) for both kids. Could anyone suggestion any good workout for me? I am a member of a gym and I plan to go back next week.:(

I had my second baby Sept 06... with my first, I gained 45lbs and lost it all with no problems - and my stomach went back to normal - this time, it's been almost a year and I still have loose skin/excess fat - the rest of my body looks good - I've been working out regularly since 2 weeks after I gave birth. Any advice - the baby belly just won't budge!!

I had my baby (first and only) back in June of 2006! (18months old). I gained in total 100lbs exactly!!!!! So far, I have lost 36lbs in total so far by doing nothing. Well...I breast fed for the first 3months. (That might have helped a little). Now I want to lose the rest...but faster!!! I am no good at eating healthy:(. Can I just excercise more instead of changeing my diet???

Crystal, please see the post about loose skin in the overweight forum. Keep eating right and exercising, the extra fat will come off.
Birdee, if you want to make a true lifestyle change to be healthier, you need to change your diet too. It's a balance of the both together that does the most good. Like if you put kerosene in your car's gas tank. It wouldn't run right, or at all. Your body is the same way. Without the proper fuel, you can't function at full capacity. Good luck!
