Please excuse me, I'm a newbie, I was told that it is harder for older men to gain muscle no matter how hard they work out. I'm 35, is it too late for me or should I just try to define what I have. Also, what is HIIT?

35 is old?? You absolutely can gain muscle! There are plenty of older men and women who have done a phenominal job with muscle gain. Check out BB1's profile! It does get a bit harder as you get older, but you just have to be dedicated and pick a FT program, eat clean and get going. I'll let someone else explain HIIT (high intensity interval training) or you can do a search using fitbuddy at the bottom of the page.

No, at 35 you're pretty much over the hill and circling the drain. J/K You can gain all the muscle you're willing to work for and eat for. welcome here my younger bro.
-------------- If I had a boat,
Id go out on the
ocean. If I had a pony ;
Id ride it on my boat.
Very soon

You're not a professional athlete I am assuming.....so you're not over the hill yet...lol.....
Only thing to keep in mind is that you'll recover slower than someone 10-15 years younger....so that you need to have more recovery between workouts....and avoid injuries by following proper form...because the body heals slower and slower as u get older.....
welcome to freetrainers and good luck...

Geez, 35? I started at 43, lost 30 lbs of bad stuff and gained 35 of muscle.

I agree with charlie, depends on how hard you'll work for it, but you definately can.
