Ok....so I bought this power 90 DVD by Tony Horton and I must say that I do enjoy doing it and really love my circut days but the aerobic days kill my knees. For the past 2 days on my cardio/sweat days I have opted for doing 30-40 mins on the treadmill or eliptical to save my knees. I know my heart rate doesnt always get as high on the equiptment as it does on the tape but is it ok to slack off the aerobic and head to the gym or do I need to stick to that part and keep charging thru the discomfort I feel in my knees after? There is alot of jumping around and after 30 mins my knees are killing me to where all I want to do is set down and not move. Is there anything I could do to help with my knees? Please help.....

In my mind, cardio is cardio, as long as you get your heart rate up to where it needs to be in order to be effective.....
Does not matter much how you do it :)
Just my opinion though.

I agree with sbroyhill. If you work a bit harder, higher intensity, incline, HIIT, etc, you could certainly get your heartrate up on the equipment. If your knees bother you, I wouldn't do the dvd, you'll pay for it in the long run with an injury. I stopped doing "classes" years ago...just couldn't get into them anymore.
