Whey Protien

Hey my name is ryan and im 15 years old. I need some help. I need to know when
I should take whey protien and how much. I weght 125 and am 5'6". I want to
be able to play varsity soccer next year so plaes anyone HELP ME?

Protein should be part of your diet. At 15 you shouldn't really need to supplement as getting 125 grams of protein a day is fairly easy.
If you really want to consume the shake have it with in 45 minutes after your weight training . Follow the instructions for mixing on the label. You would want to purchase whey isolate for the quality.

Ryan,

Welcome to FT. The best time for protein is immediately or within and hour or so after hard physical training, so the muscles that you stressed can get the 're-building material' they need. Most supplements advise four to fives times a day to take it. I do a double dose after workouts, and then spread the other 3 out evenly during the day. Before bed with milk is a perfect time also. Obviously liquid will absorb faster, so if you have whey powder, mix it with some water, juice, or milk. If you don't mind the taste (I don't cause I really only worry about results) use about 3/4 of a gatorade right after a good hard cardio session.

A shake after working out as carivan said is all you need. No body needs to take it before bed! Casien protein is best before bed. Take your whey with water or juice not milk. You dont need four servings per day thats just a waist of cash. Get a good diet, at 15 your hormones and a good routine will do the rest.

whey mixed with milk will slow it's absorbtion.

Do any of you guys like Designer Protein, I love that stuff the chocolate is great!
