I've been lifting 3-4 times a week for about 6 weeks now, and I'm not seeing or feeling the results much yet. I know everyone develops at different rate; it's just hard to keep pushing without seeing the results.

I think I probably need more calories and possibly more protein...being a college student, my eating isn't as set/regular as it needs to be. Currently, I'm taking GNC Amino Acid tablets and GNC Protein shakes to help supplement. I wonder if a weight gainer may be in order?

Sorry for the rambling...I just needed to vent.

You aren't working the same muscles on all those 3-4 days are you? Then the answer would be overtraining.

I think you answered your own question...."diet". Most likely not substantial for your activity level.

I assume that is one of the biggest factors.

Would you recommend a weight gainer?

There is no assuming about it. Without proper diet, forget much in the way of gains. The weight lifting is just the car so to speak, and the diet is the fuel to make it move. Diet will determine how much you get out of your training. You are in the gym maybe an hour a day..you do not build an ounce of muscle in the gym. That all happens upon recouperation with proper diet and rest.

My goal right now is to gain strength and size.

I eat pretty well, I just think I need a little more.

The past two weeks, I have been following the Free Trainers workout program for mass and strength.
