just completed my first FT workout

Wow, I just did my first FT workout. I am feeling muscles in my body I never knew were there!!!
My FT program says I should also do 25 minutes on the bike, and my question is, should I wait a certain length of time or just head straight for the bike? I've read through several cardio posts and understand that it makes sense to do the resitance training before the cardio, but I guess I am just not sure if I should put the cardio off until later this afternoon or not.

If you can do the cardio on a different day or later on in the day, then that is better.

It´s not a major disaster to do the cardio immediately after, depending on how experienced you are - if you are relatively new to exercise, then it is not as important as if you have been exercising for a long while.

Thanks for the input! Because I'm anxious to get some of this fat off, I think I will definitely get the cardio in today, but think I will plan to do it this afternoon/early evening. I am actually feeling this morning's workout pretty nicely and think that several hours would be good to recoop a bit. I am pretty new to exercise, as I haven't done any consistently in about two years and even back then, I was a "lazy cardio exerciser" to begin with.

Great job, clgeary! I have a time problem so I do my cardio after my workout, but I try to drink 1/2 a protein drink during weights and finish the rest after the weights. It is better as princesslodgey said to do it later or opposite days, but it just doesn't work well for me and I end up short of time and skipping it all together then, so for now at least, I do it after, but am hoping to change that in the near future to benefit fully.

I am just starting to work out again (after a year off). I was always taught cardio for better results in weights... anyways after my first week of working out again I am incredibly sore (i.e. trouble with full range of motion with my arms). What is the scientific cause? Should I ice or heat? Should exercise when I am sore?

I'm definitely no expert, but I would say that if you haven't worked out in over a year, you should expect some soreness. When I'm sore, I "try" to stretch the muscles. I'm sure you are aware that after a few workouts, your muscles won't be AS sore as when you begin.
