I was wondering if anyone could offer me some advice as to how to tone the tops of my thighs. The front and backs of my thighs are pretty muscular until I get right to the top just below my bum. I am very unhappy with this area, is there any specific exercises that will target this area more or am I best just continuing with my normal squats and lunges?

Your advice would be off a great help as I am get quite disheartened. I also don't have access to a gym and use dumbells at home.

Many Thanks

yes there are

squats for quads....I like to put my heels on 2.5lb plates and use close stance...6 inches apart....go down to parallel or lower

and use stiff legged deadlifts with a close stance (6-8 inches apart).....to train hamstrings/butt...

try

*=35-50% of 1 rm

you can do these as a superset....try doing one after another, then rest 2-3 minutes...use weights...you can do just these reps...if you can do mroe than increase weight...it's ok if you end up doing a rep less...

squats(12*, 10,8,8)
stiff legged deadlifts(12*,10,8,8)

lunges can be substituted for squats...for variety...you can do machine leg curls instead of deadlifts to switch things up also...

tighten up your diet a little - be sure you are eating enough protein and lots of veggies, cut out the processed foods. you can't spot tone/reduce, and under the glutes is often the last bastion of bodyfat. keep working out!
