Ok, I just want to make sure that this is right.
Oil: Coconut or Flax is the best. Not Canola like I thought. Question: Does coconut or flax oil make your food taste different?
Bread: Whole wheat bread. That doesn't mean if it just says wheat, but whole wheat.
Sugar: Avoid even if the product is low or fat free. Brown sugar is a little better if you must.
Processed foods: Bad. Pop Tarts may be lower in fat but processed foods get stored as fat first. (I think)
Milk: Skim, not %2.
Rice: Brown is the best but white isn't so bad if that's all you have. I think I read here that brown takes longer to digest and a bit more calories but is better for you.
Ok everyone, be nice for I am a diet retard. Please correct me on any info that is not right and add if you would like. Thanks.

Olive oil is nice for sauteeing, coconut is good for cooking (though I haven't tried it and don't know how it tastes, bb1fit?), safflower, canola, peanut oil are all okay, if that is what you have. Flax is not good for cooking (heat destroys the beneficial compounds). Flax is good for salad dressing - i like it with salt, pepper and fresh pressed garlic, a little balsamic or red wine vinegar would be good, too.
Bread - number one ingredient 100% whole wheat flour. Make sure that it isn't full of high fructose corn syrup or other sugars.
Sugar: Brown really isn't any better.
Processed foods bad - because they are nutritionally deficient and void of fiber (usually), all of the good things have been stripped out, artificially replaced and then they add lots of sugar and chemical flavorings, etc. No good. Not to mention most processed foods are high in sodium.
Milk - skim, or 1% if skim just grosses you out.
Rice - brown still has fiber and nutrients. White has been stripped and then enriched and most of the enrichment washes out if you rinse the rice before cooking. But many bodybuilders eat white rice.
You are not a diet retard - you are trying to understand one of the most confusing issues surrounding health and fitness.
Basically - stick to fresh, whole foods and lean proteins.

I have put those little salad oil and vinegar dispensers next to my stove and I put olive oil in them and that is what I use when I have to use something, Dani, and though at first I noticed a slight difference in more tasteless foods such as eggs, I don't notice a thing now and feel so much better using that than anything else in my kitchen! :)

I heard that you shouldn't eat any thing with hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated fats in it and make sure by checking the ingredients. I also heard you shouldn't eat a lot of stuff like eggs, cheese, cream, etc. I also heard that you should eat very lean meat. Also, if someone eats like prepackaged beef or meat of any kind, a butcher told me that it sits in that package for 2 weeks before the store gets it. So, meat packaged by the store is better for you.
