Reverse barbell curls is one of the exercises from the program on this site, however my dad (a doctor) said i shouldn't do these because he sees too many people injuring themselves doing similar things. Just wondering on your thoughts on this...

There should be no problem with doing these. They are a good exercise. I like to do them with cables.

He seems to think you use "clencher" muscles to do the lifting in that exercise rather than using "lifting" muscles to do the lifting.

I was ggoing to say the same thing, when using correct form there isn't a problem.
Correct form is only achieved by using correct weight.
If I may ask, what type of Doctor is Dad?
