Ok I know there is tons of stuff about abs but I got another question. :) I wanna lose about 15 lbs to get to my ideal slim/toned self. I also want abs (girl abs). I know I have to lose the extra lbs first but I do ab exerices now anyway to build up the muscle underneath. Heres what I do 3 days a week. 50 crunches on exercise ball, 30 reverse crunches, 30 bicycle crunches, 30 (per side) side crunches. Besides my eating right and doing cardio (I do other weight training aswell) I was wondering if you had any more suggestions. Also when my fat is cut since I have been developing these muscles are they gonna show?
thanks, shana

Once you are lean, they should show - can you feel them when you flex them? You may want to switch one day of ab work to some weighted work/lower reps. Hold a medicine ball or dumbbell over your chest while doing swiss ball crunches, or a med ball between your kness for reverse curls, or do cable crunches, etc. This will help build the muscles up as opposed to building endurance in the muscles.

thanks asimmer. lol yeah I'm still recovering from leg surgery they just had to replace a rod in my phemor because it was alittle crooked. That dosen't mean I can't workout! The only thing that has been recommended for me not to do (besides running lol) is to work out on the abductor or adductor machines. Now I use a resistance band for those but that is mostly for small gains and making it so I can walk compltetly straight w/o a crutch again :)
Back to abs..Oh yeah I can definetly feel them, I have the line you get when you start developing them but it dosen't even reach my belly button yet :(
btw whats reverse curls?
