I would like to lose fat around my midsection, upper abdominals are fat free, just the lower abs and side obliques that need to be hit, unfortunately cant go back to gym with my new job....what i want cleared up is!
If i exercise just those parts, and starve myself of a fatty diet and carbs, will i lose fat around that area that i've targeted...i do pushups and pull-ups nearly every day, when i find the time.... I'm currently 5,9 154 pounds I'v gymed before.:dumbbell:..so i have muscle, but because i'v taken mass builder and all those supplements, picked up fat a round the midsection, so there's muscle on upper abs and then fat around the lower ones...needless to say looks silly. Want to slim down now, without having to go to the gym. thanks |

Perhaps you should read through the threads and notice that there is no "instant" miracle when it comes to fat loss and fitness, that if you want the body, you gotta do the time.
Do a fit buddy search on abdominals and maybe you will discover that genetics play a big role in where your body displaces fat and that abs are made in your kitchen and not the gym. Forgive me for being contrite, but you'll realize of course that you just asked for support in starving yourself and not working out...something that this entire site is designed to help people NOT do. -------------- I can promise you that there is more to me than meets the eye..... if your really want the abbs, then get to the gym.....theres time in a day... you just have to MAKE time. Instead of coming home and doing your push ups pull ups, situps, go to the gym for 30mins.
I work, cheerlead, go to classes, workout eat 5-6 times a day.......and soem studying and drawing in.....an di still get my 8 hours sleep. and I agree with dfly....no one will give you support on to starve yoruself, just so you can see 2 more abbs. -------------- My drinking squad, has a cheerleading problem!! |

Yeah, you cannot spot reduce. By starving yourself you will simply slow your metabolic rate and your body will react by storing more fat in anticipation of starvation. Very basic function of the body since the early days, the body does again not care about looking good at the beach.

Thanks...guys...with my current job...13hours a day, weekends only for free time...live in London so running or jogging is out.
Going to try and join a gym, but the gym's in this country really suck and are extremely expensive... The only problem is if i join a gym, i want to get big, and that means eating alot, protein shakes etc, just want to get rid of the fat around waste, looks silly muscle above fat below, so trying anything... just needed to know if starving will eat the fat away..especially if i exercise those parts effected... thanks |

starving won't help... it will just put more fat on u.. as bb1 said.. body does not care about U looking good.. it cares about surviving.. and if u r going to starve it.. its going to keep food stored so that during that starvation time it can function on the stored food.. i use to live in london work 12-13 hours shift every day and still had enough time.. and it don't matter if its london or any other place.. u can run/jog on the foot paths... nobody will tell u not to and the gyms range from 20 to 25 pounds at most... just makeup ur mind that u gonna go to gym and u'll get plenty of time at hand-------------- A life worth living is a life lived with honor and dignity..bow to no moral and bowed by none.. I know in a lot of places in the UK the local council leisure centres have a lot more fitness equipment these days, and prices are very reasonable. You can often just pay on the day rather than having to pay a lot of money up front, too.
Is there nothing like that near you? |

yeah i agree to PL.. the gym i go charges 25 for the monthly membership and 2.20 per day if u don't want monthly.. for students its 1.60.. and there are less rates for off peak times... so find some council leisure centres near you-------------- A life worth living is a life lived with honor and dignity..bow to no moral and bowed by none..
