Ive always been skinny. If you look in the picture of me, which was about six months ago, and you look at my stomach, u see no fat and a pretty nice six pack. Recently ive gained a lot of muscle, ive really widened my back and chest. But until a month ago, i feel like ive been noticing some fat around my midsection. And what the hell could i be doing wrong. I mean i stopped running intense for a while, and until now, id run maybe once every week or two. I find ab training very boring and not effective. Maybe all this time ive been "sucking it in". But when i let my stomach hang, it doenst look that good. On the other hand, when i flex, i still have the six pack. I'm into bodybuilding, so if i wanted to run alot, like 5x a week, wouldn't i lose muscle? But what can i do to achieve a flat stomach and toned obliques, ill do whatever it takes. From diet, to cardio and abdominal training. HELP!!!! This is a huge problem for me!!!

kev you've been around here for a while — there are a million threads on this topic and they all say the same thing. eat right because abs are made in the kitchen. you can't spot reduce so you have to train your entire body and fuel it with clean food if you want to see results. it may be the last place you lose fat, but you just have to be patient.
running 5 times a week isn't necessary unless you're training for a race. 3 times a week is sufficient. at any rate, you will lose some muscle mass while cutting — that is why you bulk and cut in phases. you can rebuild what muscle you lose while cutting when you start bulking, then you lose the fat you gained while bulking when you cut again. it's all a big cycle.

excuses are really good for making you fat.
