i remember when i started lifting, the day after- everything ached, everything still does ache the day after apart from the biceps. no matter how heavey i go, or how many reps, i just cant get it. im (safely) lifting two thirds of my bodyweight on a barbell, yet its not aching. i still get the burn , and feel pumped, but only for a couple of hours. i just cant work it out. im also still gaining. help, i miss it.

This is not unusual. Many folks, myself being one of them, do not get DOMS anymore no matter what. Except if you do some "exotic" exercise that somehow hits the muscle in an area it has never been before. When highly trained, DOMS becomes pretty much a thing of the past. This in no way reflects a bad workout. Some people say they get sore all the time. It is different, but I believe most do not.

I hate DOMs...so I envy you....
How much weight are you doing...many people... especially fairly new...even intermediate have a tendency to lift light/lighter than they should...this is why they never get sore....try a powerlifting style workout and then see how that goes....sometimes it pays to switch things around....try new exercises....switch rep schemes....order...try different techniques like forced reps, drop sets, supersets, etc....
2/3 of bodyweight doesn't tell us how hard you're pushing youself....ie your intensity....some people might be sore as heck with 1/10 of body weight when they start out...others don't feel a thing with 2 times body weight....because it's too light....ronnnie coleman just for an example weighs 330 lb in offeseason or around there.....however doing 660 for squats/deadlift....is too light for him....because he's so strong...that's why he goes up to 850+...pyramiding to 1 perfect rep.....my friend had the same problem...he was saying he lifted to his max and had high intenisty...after I observed him and pointed out certain things...he started doing 2 extra reps on certain lifts and I suggested he goes to lower reps....and so he increased the weight...now he's making great gains...PUSHING yourself under CONTROL is the key...sometimes people mistake VOLUME for INENSITY....very different things....even in bodybuilding it helps to adopt other styles to get over plateaus....
For the end of me I couldn't get my biceps sore...no matter what...now found my perfect exercise and intensity....and boom...find that for yourself...

ive been lifting for well over a year, getting on for two i think, im not a novice, im just not huge. 2/3 s is intense, but intense to the point where i can control myself. to begin with biceps were pretty much all i did, i was a total novice, so its been about two years on the biceps, ive probably just 'grown out of them'.

pritchard that's nonesense I am sure if you look hard enough you can find what works again for you....people lift for decades and make progress...2 years is nothing in the big picture...
if you want post your biceps/arms routine here....and we'll help you tweak it...
