So i just learned about the whole running and bodybuilding mix. Theres fast twich and slow twitch muscle fibers. Well my new question is as follows: What if i wanted to do some occasional distance running, just to keep my heart healty, you know, running just 2 or 3x a week, for about 30 minutes each session?

Are you gonna be doing this to be in a sport or just to be doing it? Cause if your into cross country and or track, bodybuildingis not what you should be concerend with. You can still work out, but to be an athlete, you need to concentrate on making yourself a better runner.
eg. 135lb squats for 45 secs no rest somthing like that. That will build some muscle however help you in running. Bigger you get the heavier you get, the harder your gonna have to work to get that bulk to go. Like I said in the other forum, why are there no 260lb sprinters or long distance runners?

Now if your doing it to just keep the heart heathy then go for it, but be aware, to main tain yoru muscle mass, your gonna have to eat even more. If not your gonna create a caloris deficit and start to lose weight, fairly rapidly. Which eventualy will lead to some muscle loss. This is why bodybuilders are either "cutting" or "bulking"

You don't have to run 4 miles tokeep your heart healthy, HITT and just regular cardio is just as good, hel weightling get my heart rate up to about 130+ beats a min. Why do you need to be able to run long distances?

What you propose in your post is just fine. 2-3 days of 30 minute sessions can in fact be ideal. If bodybuilding(building muscle) is your biggest goal, try to separate your 30 minute cardio sessions from your weight training sessions, perferrably on different days.
