Hi! I weigh 133 currently. I'm trying to get down to about 120 by Christmas..... my hieght is 5'5......
So I was wondering if you guys think my little program I made up will work-
Sooo.. yeah my exercizing consists of-
Everyday-
50 crunches (done the right way.... with holding your stomach tight when you crunch in... and exhaling when you crunch in)
20 (on each side) twisting crunches (done the right way!)
50 squats
20 push ups
20 leg lifts
and some light weight lifting for my arms......
Tuesday and Thursdays-
Swimming for about one hour--- (about 70 laps now)
~~~ Does that sound like it'll do something? Or do I really need to add more?~~~~
My diet is three well balanced meals a day... I have a binging problem.... so basically eating healthy and not binging at all will be my goal.
Will this work? Anything I should do?
All this will help, and perhaps it will even be all you need, but I'd suggest that you bring in some other form of cardio, perhaps walking, or running, or riding a bike or something of the sort. As far as your diet, you should be eating about 5 to 6 small well balanced meals a day. Why you should do this, is so that your metabolism will stay constant throughout the day, and if you do this, you will most likely have a better chance at staying away from the binging. What you can do about your binging problem is keep healthy fruits at hand at all times, and if ever your just about to go binging on the wrong foods, Grab an apple and bing on that! :big_smile:
Good Luck! I hope you can accomplish your goals. Keep us posted with your results, good or bad.
You need to find an exercise for your back. Can you do some sort of pull ups? And don't do it everyday, 4-5 times a week would be fine. Try to make it into a circuit training not resting between the sets or exercises. This will bring up your metabolism and give you a good sweat.
Good luck!! :)
Generally speaking, light-weight exercises and body-weight resistance exercises (sit-ups, crunches, etc.) will do extremely little for you if you're trying to lose weight.
The swimming will do you some good, however. Proper fat loss is comprised of three factors - eating a sensible diet, doing cardio, and doing resistance training. Keep in mind resistance training (weights) should be done with relatively high weight/low rep scheme (failure by no later than 12th rep in most cases)
One of my problems is I cannot do much cardio because I can't run at all... or jog really because of a ankle injury. So swimming is my only cardio resource.
