It really annoys me when I see these 16 year old wannabe thugs taht come into the gym trying to look big and tuff (even tho they are like 5'8 150).. and put on 45's on the barbell and try and bench it.. but they cant get it up once without help.. yet they call that a set and do the same thing 3-4 times.. then they will move on doing more exercises with terrible form and then leave after 30 mins.. I know everyone has to start somewhere but i mean dont come to the gym if your not going to work hard and do things the right way.... today i had enough and i tried to tell them how to do incline bench press the right way but they didnt really wanna listen.. its just a matter of time before they get hurt.

yeah you have made a very good point there. I personally started lifting weights at home about 2 years ago and i am progressing slowly, but very well for my age. When i started i had the help from a friend of mine who is a professional trainer. He helped me a lot, in giving me advice on how to do certain exercises in certain ways. I really do advise the beginners to find themselves a trainer who can work with them, so that they can achieve their goals in the best and safest way possible! :dumbbell:

Get used to it....in the spring it gets even worse.....kids out of school, crowd the gym. Very trying on your patience sometimes.

lol you just described me, except for the one rep poor form and thuggish adjectives. I am 5'8" 150 pounds. I have tried the plates and I can finally lift it! It's a great achievement for me anyways. Yeah but I know what kind of person your talking about. There are not much in my gym. There are more of the older men with poor form and stuff.

I remember seeing a bunch of kids in the gym doing "bicep curls" using just about every muscle in their body to move the dumbells which were far to heavy for them. I felt completely unable to say anything to them - I mean if they don't take advice from another guy, they're hardly going to take it from a woman. I just watched on in horror, knowing at some point they're going to injure themselves, and there's nothing I can do about it.
