Other than the bf% issues are there any other detrimental factors to doing mass like this? I'm thinking of sticking into the 12 week program as soon as my 8 is done. Also the 12 week program says it's mainly for people that have hit a plateau, so should I just do another 8?

I think I pushed my limits by doing back-to-back 8 week mass programs (slight right shoulder pain). Now, I'm resting an entire week before going at it again. I have recently read that if you are intense during your mass program, you should take 1 week off after 12 of continuous training.

The 12-week mass program is fairly intense (you should know that from the ab program). However, you can modify your 8-week mass program by just adding an exercise or two, and/or sets. The only reason I have been sticking to the 8-week program is because the 12-week program is only a 4-day training split (you cannot modify this). I personally like to work out 5 days per week.

Hope this helps...

Yeah it does thanks. I think I'm going to go through a cut phase and finish burning off the excess fat. Then I'll do the 12 week mass.

Cain - a lot of times it's easier on the body to do a bulk followed by a couple of weeks cutting. The difference in the workout also gives your body a chance to recuperate. Sounds like you've got the right idea.

I am doing the 12 week program now and its kicking my butt. I have lifted for years and this program is intense, and I am making extreme gains. After I plan to do some cutting then hit it again. Maybe you should try going right into Cainsands and see how you feel. It starts you off at a good pace and works you up little by little with its compund movements, ect.
Good Luck, BIG DOG!

BQ, the 12-week mass program includes many isolation exercises towards the end of the program to help you cut!

Mine started to vary in the fourth week. But that was the 8 week program not the 12.
