been fasting for a week now and i am having problems sleeping,
my typical fasting day is as follows;
Wake up at 5:30 am eat and get back to bed
get to uni at 9:00 am and get back home at 4:00 pm
eat again at sunset
read prayers at the mosque at 8:00 am and get home at 10pm
i will go up to bed at 10:30 pm but fall asleep around 2am only giving me 3 hours of good sleep.
get up again at 5:30 and continue the cycle.
are there any ways in which i can fall asleep quicker cuz i can't manage to just get a few hours of sleep
just because you are fasting doesn't mean you should eat less. i mean you eat before sunrise then eat after sunset- why only twice? why not at about 11pm after mosque getting in protein which satiates and may aid restful sleep also maintaining metabolism?
you have created a sleeping pattern you believe in- you have trained yourself to go to bed and then not to sleep- what do you go to bed and do till 2am? don't tell me, you lay there as if you want to sleep and do nothing till 2am!
remove your radio/telly/books etc... and go to bed with the view it's to sleep.
aids to sleep are a herbal pill from a health store/protein/no carbs/no cheese or milk or any dairy/no stresses or at least low , so deal with any problems constructively. and training can assist in aiding sleep- so train before retiring.
