my friend hasnt been wrking out long and he's goin for mass he eats plenty of protein but wen he lifts he does things that seem off to me. for example, for his bench he does around 105lbs and does 25 reps. shouldnt he increase the weight and do a lot les reps

You must always challenge a muscle to intice it to grow. The most coveted growth principle of all is to increase the weights to acheive this. If he can do 25 reps with that weight, he is not nearly doing enough. He needs to find a weight that makes him fail in the 8-12 rep range max.

It simply means a weight that he has to struggle at best to do the last couple reps. The last couple reps should be relatively hard, where completion may even take assistance.
