No. I waer wraps and training gloves, so even if I wanted to, the glovew would prevent me from tucking in my thumb.

It didn't really break my hand, but I hit the bag with my right hand and end up in severe pain located in the vicinity of my thumb joint. It's happened like 3x already. What could i be doing wrong?

are you tucking your thumb into your fist? this is a common mistake and may break your thumb.

Make sure that you are hitting the bag with the first two knuckles such that the knuckles are "perfectly" aligned with the two arm bones. If you roll your wrist forward or backward when you hit, you will experience pain in the wrist. If you roll to the outside (toward the pinky finger), you could actually hit the thumb against the bag, causing pain in the thumb joint.

Slow your strikes down and watch the mechanics of them. See if you can notice anything. If you have a camcorder, have somebody video tape your punches. Have them zoom out for a couple and zoom WAY in for a couple.

Good Luck,
Jonathan
