Hi Ive been working out for two months now I start by running increments of 10% per week three days a week, MWF and am upto 60min runs now followed by major muscle group weight lifting only 15 pound weights plus some abwork and also on TTHU I do kickboxing 20 min, pilates 20 min and interval training 30 min on Sat I do a 45 min pilates session and rest on sundays. I have actually increased weight and inches but my body is solid though the tummy is going away slower than I would like. NOw my question is is this too much cardio Im only 5 2 and dont want to bulk up just want a super toned body what are you suggestions according to BMI am overweight but I beg to differ?
Any comments/ suggestions/ correction would be appreciated:cool:

Thanks for your feedback. I eat six meals daily following the nutrition guide here most days cereal for breakfast, fruit or yogurt for snacks lunches and dinners are usually fish or beef. I try to stay away from most carbs like bread and pasta but occasionally have some coz I get too tired otherwise. I also have salad with chicken many of the days. I try to eat enough and healthy but I do admit I sometimes eat six meals but dont reach the caloric needs suggested. Im getting to where am content with my gains but my stomach is just not getting there fast enough

Quoting from cbas1:
Sounds like a classic case of putting on muscle. As an athlete you can't get a relyable BMI because muscle being heavier than fat will give a fauls reading. what is your body fat%, as if this is too lo your body may be going into starvation mode and slowing down your metabolic rate, this could be a consiquence of not tayloring your diet to meet your workout needs, and also your stomach may apear large because if you have developed the muscles under the fat the fat will tend to stick out more. hit me back with your diet.

Chris,
So when I feel like snacking, it is actually my body burning the fat away? Dangit! I always hear this as "I need food", so I eat some fruit or carrots or something. Hmm. That'll make for a change.
Am I understanding you correctly? To get rid of the belly, I need to stop grazing between meals? (I know. That's gonna sound stupider than it's meant to sound.) No, for real. The fruit as a snack is actually hindering my weight loss progress? What would you suggest at those "in between" times when the body says to snack? Water? Protein Shake?
Hmmm...... This'll create the biggest change in my diet.

Im kinda shocked coz I thought fruit makes for a good safe snack so eat fruit with my meal then protein bars or shakes in btwn?? How about veggies do they apply too??
Ok my exercise program is pretty full I run 60 min three days a week, and do weights after or atleast I used to till I read here that you have to lift before cardio. Then on tuesday and thurs I kickbox for 20 min, pilates 20 min and 1 min interval training mostly jump rope or jumping jacks. On Sat I do a longer like 45 min pilates. Thats about it. As for food I think I eat less than I should but somehow fit it into 6 meals. I struggle with finding carbs I like that are good for me. And yes I eat a lot of fruit and vegs thats why I think when I add up all the stuff I eat cereal, fish, veggies, fruit and yogurt for the day it never adds up to enough cals. I hope I havent confused you coz I feel like I confused myself but anyway ......

This is sooo freaking confusing. I'm so dumb when it comes to nutrition and healthy eating. I think I need someone to walk with me for a day and hand me what's right when it's right for me. LOL :(
Ok. Make this simple like telling a 6 yr old.
1. No fruits between meals.
2. Protein every 2-3 hours. (Isn't this my 5-6 meals?)
3. Protein shake after workout. (Can of tuna instead of the $4 shake?)
5. What exactly are the complex carbs? (I know. Look in FitBuddy.)
6. Is breaded chicked ok? It's white meat in there.
I'm was going to IM this to you, but then posted it because I'm sure I'm not the only one reading this and wondering.
Thanks,
Jonathan
