Hi Everyone,

I've been doing quite a bit of research and reading many of the posts. The more I do this, the more confused I get because everyone is saying something different. There are a few things I would like to achieve. I'm currently 5'8" and 160 lbs. My body fat is 15% according to the caliper test done at my gym. My goal is to show my abs and also gain muscle, b/c I look skinny. I was at 170 about a month ago, and have lost 10 lbs since. I don't know if this is good or bad. I'm not sure if I'm burning muscle instead of fat. Below is my workout program I'm following. Please let me know if I'm doing the right program for achieving abs and gain muscle.

Diet:
- I eat 5-6 daily every 3 hours
- I eat plenty of vegetables and fruit
- I try to eat healthy, such as fish and chicken

Exercises:
- I do a 1 hour cycling class early in the morning 2 times a week
- I do strength training 3 times a week (2 days for chest and back, 1 day for legs)
- I do a 1 hour cycling class 2-3 times a week in the evening

Please provide any suggestions or recommendations. Thanks

To show your abs you need to diet(tap your fat stores). to gain muscle, you need to increase your calories. It is very tough to do both, if not impossible. Choose a goal and go with that. If you are happy with your current muscle size, then go for the abs, as you will not gain any while doing this. If on the other hand you are not happy with your muscle size, and can stand a bit more fat, then go for gaining.

Thanks for your suggestion. I have another question. Given my body size, fat % and diet, would you recommend working on my abs first, or gaining muscle. In your opinion, which would you do first. Are there benefits to do abs first versus gaining muscle or vice versa. Thanks

2 days for back and chest? and one for legs? What no shoulders, no arms? Whats up with that?

Your body fat % isn't bad, Ive herd between 10 and 12 is when you can show a nice six pack, so you don't have to lose much. However abbs are cool, but mainly a showy muscle, Id rather build a stone before I start carving it, but thats just me.
