In your opinion, when should one start the lean-out phase? I've always thought it should be when you reach your target weight (or a little above) after obtaining desired mass, then begin to tone out/define muscles and decrease overall caloric intake. Suggestions are welcomed...

You're right to cut after having obtained the desired muscle mass, but when is that? We often always want more and therefore we set new targets to reach.

The very best choice is to start following a healthy diet NOW. You'll see then you'll still get more muscles and loose fat in the same time. You need to find the balance.

Hi rpacheco, thanks for putting in your profile by the way!

Thanks, Nina. I do want to get to around 170-175 lbs. before starting the lean-out phase. Besides, I'm kinda used to consuming all those extra calories ;-)

Anyway, I'll try to put in a pic now and another after completing the ft mass program. Won't be that much difference though...at least I don't think so.

Just do it like they do in the magazines.. the before pic should be with bad lighting.. bad posture.. and the individual must look vary sad. Then in the after.. get a tan.. smile.. flex.. etc!..

just an opinion.. lol

Nooooo Arnold, don't you dare to say much since we still haven't seen your head!!!!! lol

Actually he's true. The before pics always show very saaaad people (even thou that they are not always THAT bad) and then suddenly big happiness. You see it works (better go out and buy their products then!!)!!! (o:

And if you don't have a before pic, you are not commercial then?......

Okay all...the before pic will be black & white, I won't smile and let the body "sag" a little. Then, the after pic, the exact opposite. How's that Mr. Schwarzenegger?

LOL!!!

I think the best way to do the before picture is first eat lots of high sodium food and drink lots of carbonated drinks
for oh maybe three days then put on an ugly striped swimsuit
that is two small THEN get in the bad lighting (like they use in dept store dressing rooms) then you will be sad so you won't have to fake it!

I feel so bloated and fat...I think I gained about 1-1/2 inches on my waist. Therefore, I've decided to begin the lean-out/cut phase early. Can I begin this even though I haven't yet completed the 8-week mass program???

Oh yes you can, but cut down slowly.
Eat more proteins, less carbs, a little fat and drink 3-4 l of water daily.
If you got time for it, why not do more cardio. I mean maybe twice a day but only for around 20 mins?!!! A nice walk after a meal can also help to digest better.

Thanks for your suggestion, Nina. I'll be starting on Monday. I want to make sure I do it slowly to avoid going into hypoglycemic shock.

I assume you mean "hypoglycemic shock" because your eating less???? That shouldn't be a problem if you eat every 2-3 hours and avoid sugar!

Oh some people also get the (sugar) cravings (or hypoglycemic shock if you want) after eating fruits.

Here comes in the discipline. It's a big bother thou.... ):

Proteins also make me thirsty and that means looooots of water (3-4 litres a day) It's okey, but always finding a toilet when you're out is ALSO a big bother!!

Hmmmm...... lol

Thanks for the advice, ladies! I'm determined to get cut now that I've amassed some weight (can't seem to break the 165-pound barrier). Oh well...

I continue to drink lots of water (yes, many bathroom breaks during work (LOL)) and protein shakes as MRPs.
