you need a clip, like the ones on the cable machines, used for ataching different grips. Hook that to the chain, then that to the clip thats on the bar. Or you can lop the chains around the bar, and get a link or somthing to hold that "O" shape to fit around the bar. May need to clips if you double the chain.
Might wanna ask your gym, if its cool to hook chains up to the bars. -------------- if you kick a tiger in the @$$ , you then have to descide what to do with the teath end. any guy can hold a girl by the hand, but only the select few can hold her by her feet! |

I haven't because my gym doesn't have them, but I've heard they are awesome. I once saw a picture of Kobe Bryant doing squats with them lol, but that's about it-------------- I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is the moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle-victorious. --Vince Lombardi "Decide what you want, decide what you are willing to exchange for it. bigandrew- I tried using bands on dl's, but not with much success. I used them for a little while on SLDLs but if you come up with an effecttive way to use them on your regular deadlift, be sure to post and let me know. Were the chains attached to the bar or to Kobe?

Here is how to set up chains:
Buy a small chain that you will attach to the bar. Buy 5/8 or 1/2 inch size chaines that go through the small chain. The small chain must be big enough so that when you lower the bar ALL of the big chain is deloaded on the floor. |

Thanks for all the replies guys. I have been using chains and mini's on my speed bench day. You can really feel a difference on the way up.

Haha ursusarktos, the chains were on the bar. He can squat over 500, thats not bad for a basketball player.-------------- I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is the moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle-victorious. --Vince Lombardi "Decide what you want, decide what you are willing to exchange for it. That's right! Sorry, couldn't resist asking. BTW, 500 lbs isn't bad for just about any athlete. Were those parallel or partial squats he was doing?

Parallel. He had like 3 or 4 plates on there with the chains on the commercial, but Sports Illustrated said he was squatting 500+ and benching 300+ a couple years ago when he got all swole. He didn't have the guns as much this year cuz of all the rape stuff I guess. -------------- I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is the moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle-victorious. --Vince Lombardi "Decide what you want, decide what you are willing to exchange for it. Gator, just wondering I got a set of green mini bands and yesterday on bench I doubled them up and did my speed bench with them. I had doubled them up and then stretched them over the bar and then uder the dummbbell. It looked like it was gonna be hard cause they were so tight. But anyways, How much weight aproximately does it add if the bands are doubled?
