I'm 19 and male and am starting one of the ft programs today. I'm 5'7 and 180 lbs. Body fat is about 23%. BMI is
28.3. With regular lifting, regular cardio (3x a wk) and healthy, clean diet, would 3 months be a realistic time frame to reduce body fat by 5%? I know everyone is different, but I'm trying to give myself a general time frame so that I can stay motivated and have something to shoot for.

1% loss is a good goal to lose per month anymore is very hard to do

5% in 3 months is attainable, but only if you keep to a very appropriate workout schedule, and stay supportive with your nutrition.
As you said, everyone is different, but I believe you can drop 5% in 3 months if you are disciplined and work hard.

I've dropped my about 12 pounds in 3 weeks, Havent lose any muscle and I feel absolutely GREAT!....Of course I havent starved myself ate right did a bit of cardio and lifting...Best shape of my life and my abs are finally popping out!

Shoot for approx. 2 lbs of fat a week,try to take your weight every week on the same day at the same time. I do it every sunday morning when I first wake up, then I right it down. It helps me chart progress or deviations. And, it's a little easier to keep track of than %. Good luck with your goal, and hope some of this helps.

I always remember that it takes 3500 calories to make or lose a pound of fat...so if you take your calories you need and adjust them and take the amount of calories burned in exercise you can find how much you will lose in how much time - at least approximately and you will need to adjust that from time to time, of course.
If your energy levels need 3000 calories and you lower them by 300 per day and you burn 300 per day, you will lose one pound in approximately 6 days of fat. You can shoot for two pounds a week by adjusting your exercise but make sure you don't drop your calories too much. When you see the math, it is easier to know how to lose the fat and not worry about the loss of muscle so much.
As richardjst said, weigh at the same time, same day of the week, best right after using the bathroom when waking.
