I've been trying to workout to loose weight and body mass but instead of loosing the body mass I turn it into muscle... how do I change that? What am I doing wrong? I don't want to look like a girl wrestler.

you already have muscles to begin with.
there is no way that you're going to lose fat qithout using and optimizing muscle tissue. it's --impossible--. trust me. if you lose fat, you're inevitably going to show muscles. try looking at an anatomy chart..there's skin, a layer of fat, then lean muscle tissue, then bones. so what you're asking in an impossibility.

And because you're a girl, you won't turn into a she-hulk, thank your hormones for that, as well as evolution. And if you're looking at all those fashion magazines full of skinny models, they were gifted with that body. And what they're doing to themselves is very unhealthy. if you think that what you posed initially still holds true, then I think you have the wrong site.

Next up, give us some more info on yourself, how tall are you and what have you been doing so far to change your body?

BTW, you should do something about yourself in order to be personally happy about your own body. Don't do it for the boys. Granted it's a plus, but...in the long run, being your own inspiration is always the best motivation.

big_star,
Have you been dieting while working out. often women work out and before they lose the fat they feel they are bulking up, as the muscles under the fat get firm and toned, pushing the fat out and producing a bulkier appearance.
Clean up your diet and keep working out, you should look leaner soon.

PS you really do want muscle - a pound of muscle burns about 50 extra calories a day, a pound of fat burns about 3 calories in the same amount of time.... and it is really a lot of hard work and proper eating to look like a female wrestler (plus, sometimes, steroids), oh, but what's wrong with Trish Stratus (did I get the name right?) she really isn't that muscular at all..... GO CHYNA!

Thanks for the good advice everyone. Here's a bit of info on me. I'm 18 about 5'4 and 170lbs. Actually I'm very active. I walk about a mile a day and work and try to use my brother's weights to fit my arms, but like I said I'm turning my fat arms into fat muscle instead of just lean arms. I do simple workout excersie before goin to sleep and in the mornings, i.e. sit ups, stretches, jump-rope. Simple routines. I guess it has been working for me in 4 months I've lost 20lbs. To me thats a big accomplishment:). To be honest I really haven't been paying attention to what I eat. And I should. Having school and work every day makes it a bit hard to eat healthy. Maybe thats what I should really focus on right now.
And about the boys, well I realized that boys will be attracted to you no matter what. So i guess that really hasn't been the problem. Thanks for your help anyway. Right now is more of looking and feeling better for myself.
Thanks everyone.
