Okay folks. I officially did it. I got up off my lazy butt (which has been plastered to the couch for the past 2 months) and entered a body-challenge/physique transformation/whatever-you-wanna-call-it --12 week contest. Yep, I stood there in my bathing suit and held that damn newspaper. (not a pretty picture, let me tell ya) Ok, so I'm slightly terrified. I am the queen of self-sabotage, so this should be interesting. I am determined to win --- well at least place in the top three so they'll give me my money back for the supplements I purchased :) (at least it's not Body for Life---Myoplex tastes like chalk!) I need your help! I will allow myself to slack....so I need to know that I'm accountable to someone other than me (and my hubby---he's such a sweetie, he'd let me eat two large pizzas if I wanted!). This is where you all come in. I'm going to post weekly ---okay, maybe bi-weekly--- updates on measurements and stuff. At least this way I know I HAVE to report my progress! Okay, so here goes......

07-11-04
Height: 5'7"
Weight: 134 lbs
Body fat: between 23-26% (depending on which instrument I use ---manual or digital caliper)
Thighs: 22.5
Waist: 27.5
Hips: 39
Chest: ---doesn't count, they're fake :)

Goal: Reduce bodyfat to 15-18% (or lower if possible). I don't care so much about the measurements. They'll fall into place with the reduction in body fat. ----I hope :)

Wish me luck! Thanks in advance for your support!

The contest is sponsored by Lee Labrada. To participate you do have to purchase some supplements, but that's pretty much a given. You send in the befre & afters and write an essay. No entrance fee. Mostly, this has been all for me, regardless of whether I win. I just needed a little push to get in gear. So far, everything has been going well. Not as quick as I would like, but I'm impatient! I'll be taking measurements again tomorrow, so I'll let you know how things are going. Thanks guys for your support!
