I am new to the program and haven't read a lot of the messages, so I don't know if this has been asked before. I know there is no way to spot reduce, but I am in desperate need to find out how I can get a flat toned stomach without losing the size of my legs. I like the size of everything but my stomach. I know that cardio along with ab workouts will reduce my stomach, but cardio also takes away from everywhere else. Anyway, I hope someone has some advice for me. Thanks! blsd-b@excite.com

AS you stated the only way to lose from your waist is overall fat loss, so to lose from your waist you more than likely will lose some from your legs. Do all forms of leg work, squats, presses etc. to build up your leg muscles some more. However if you are happy with your body size apart from your waist you may not lose much from your legs, providing there is not much to lose.

Do you mean you want to keep your leg muscle or leg fat?
If you ant to lose the abdominal fat wothout losing muscle, you need to clean up your diet and add a little cardio, just enough to burn fat, not enough to burn off your muscle.
If you mean you like your 'padding' elsewhere, but want to lose it on your abdomen, sorry. Fat loss generally occurs all over, or sometimes in odd sequence. often women lose upper body fat first, with hips and abs and buttocks being the last to go. how you lose it will be different than how I lose it, or how your best friend loses it. it is mostly genetic.
Try eating cleaner and see where you start to lose the fat.

Right. I want to lose my stomach, but stay the same size in my legs. I thought even if I lost weight in my legs, I could do muscle exercises to build them up.
