OUCH Thank goodness tomorrow is shoulders and I have two exercises to do!!!! :)-------------- Do just once what others say you can't do, and you will never pay attention to their limitations again.  Phimugirl, it's a great feeling hey! Next week you'll be feeling so much stronger. Wait 'til you can't lift your coffee cup to your mouth after the shoulders, so much more fun!

It's a GOOD thing that I don't drink coffee!!!!!
Here I was thinking that it can't be quite as BAD tomorrow!!!! I know it's going to be all worth it in the end when I have the results I'm striving for. Getting past this first week and feeling that accomplishment will feel GREAT!! :) Thanks for the heads up on tomorrow's fun!!:laugh: -------------- Do just once what others say you can't do, and you will never pay attention to their limitations again. I looked at my print out again after researching some definitions for some of the exercises. Well, I also have abs tomorrow (crunches, leg raises, and seated twists).

Ohh those leg raises are a killer! Good luck to you.  Nah just joking with you, Im sure you will cruise through it all. You will feel like you can take on the world and win after just the first week. The rest is just an improvement on that.
Have some fun with it, do you workout with anyone else? I find my workouts with my neighbour are the best ones I have all week 'cause she's constantly on at me for more! It's great. Donna -------------- I knew my parents\' loved me, my bath toys were a toaster and a radio ~ Rodney Dangerfield. |

One thing I really like about this site other than the wealth of knowledge is the relaxed environment. I feel right at home.
No, I don't have a workout partner. My husband is going to start weight training when our new home is finished. I'm not sure how much longer that will be before it's done. I decided that I can't let my body wait that long. Besides, it won't hurt me to get some time on him. He's not got as many changes to be made. That's cool that you can work out with your neighbor. I'm sure it helps make working out more fun. Keep up the great work!! :dumbbell: :) -------------- Do just once what others say you can't do, and you will never pay attention to their limitations again. James R. Cook |

Good for you, getting a head start on him, then you can laugh when he's complaining about the aches! Honestly , working out with someone else gives you that little lift you find hard to get yourself. Unless you are totally dedicated and don't need it, then that's an added plus.
I find that, even though I want this so badly, I still have days where I don't give it everything I've got. Must be some issues I need to work through. LOL. Have a great time tomorrow with your shoulders, the feeling is incredible, once you stop! Donna -------------- I knew my parents\' loved me, my bath toys were a toaster and a radio ~ Rodney Dangerfield. |

Thanks Veda and Donna!!
It's gonna be hard to push myself all of the time because I've still got some disciplining to gain in myself. Good luck on your work outs as well! -------------- Do just once what others say you can't do, and you will never pay attention to their limitations again. James R. Cook |

Phimugirl, how did you go? Is it tomorrow yet? I get confused having a different time line than everyone else here. :surprised: I noticed your other post about the hand weights so you must still be able to type! LOL Hope you had/have a good time with it.

I'm almost embarrased to say how the ab routine portion went!!:laugh:
Dumbell press and standing lateral raises went GREAT!!:) Crunches and seated twists went fairly well. However, those D*** leg raises are TORTURE!!! :) Let's just say that out of the 45 that I was supposed to accomplish I didn't get to the halfway point. :( My upper thighs are STILL tremendously SORE. My 4 year old son thinks it's HILARIOUS to come jump on me, grab them from behind when he comes running to me, and dragging me through the house by pulling me to walk at a faster speed. I wasn't sure if the Glucosamine (I believe that was the spelling) gel capsules at Walmart for bone/joint pain were the thing to get for this soreness so I didn't purchase any thing. I'd love to know what to get to help the sorness go away though!!! Thank you for asking. I'm on Central time. I'm not sure how many hours difference that would be from your location. -------------- Do just once what others say you can't do, and you will never pay attention to their limitations again. bhardy, it's exactly 12 hours difference for me. Everything is half a day in the past. My post did say 11:01pm but it was only 11:01am for me.
Today when I post this it will be 07/09/04 at around 7:50am I almost know what Im doing, sometimes though I get confused. :) Donna |

I know what you mean on the leg raises Phimugirl. I do as many of the full ones as I can and then finish them off with bent legs. If you bend your legs then you can just work on getting your bum off the ground. If you know what I mean, :surprised:
Im glad your shoulder workout went well! What's next? By the way I have a 4 year old daughter, I definitely how you are feeling with them grabbing the legs and dragging you around! Im sorry I can't suggest anything to help you stop being sore, there might be something in the injuries part. I just used dencorub rub and alternated between hot and cold packs for an hour. It helped, but didn't fix it. I hope you find something that works, it's rougher on the second day than the first! Tomorrow, I'm off!!! Thank goodness!!! I'll probably get in a cardio session though. I hope to be able to get up to a run, but if walking is all I can handle then it's better than none.
Saturday is chest/biceps/abs. Sunday is a rest day. Then, on Monday I'm back to legs and calves with a set of new exercises. Do the exercises switch every week or do they alternate weekly? How far along are you in your routine? Is the soreness getting better or does a new type of exercise cause the same pain? Then, you know exactly what I'm talking about with having a 4 year old yourself. Is she at least calm being a girl? Lucas is full of energy. He's got a neverending supply of energy. If I'm still sore tomorrow, I'm going to look for the glutamine that I've read so much about on here. Also, I do know what you mean when you say to just lift the behind off the floor. :) -------------- Do just once what others say you can't do, and you will never pay attention to their limitations again. I've got a different program to you phimugirl. So I don't know if yours alternates or not. Im doing the home program, all exercises on the same day, it's not quite as rough as the rest of the programs. LOL
My soreness comes and goes, I still have bad days with muscle stiffness and stuff. But then I've only been doing this for four weeks, I hope it goes away. At the moment my side abs are tight, and during my cardio workout yesterday I got a stitch in my side which, although gone now, is killing me. Sometimes it's great to have someone pushing you on, other times you want to tell them to get lost when they tell you to push through the pain! We did 5 minutes of skipping yesterday, which might not sound like much but the most I'd done at once was 2 minutes and by the time I finished I could hardly jump off the ground one last time! Then onto boxing, 15 solid minutes of swapping bags and ducking and weaving. As well as 5 minutes of jumping around with my hands up near my face, I've got no idea what it's called but it's supposed to make you lighter on your feet. This was all after 15 minutes of running 50 metres, 10 sit ups and push ups, then running again. By the time I got home I couldn't concentrate on anything, my brain and body were in over load! The most incredible high though! One positive thing to come out of it was, my trainer says my boxing looks natural now, not so uncomfortable. Among other things of course! So even though I didn't do my FT program I certainly got a good work out. My little girl has an amazing amount of energy and is very easily bored. I know you will know what that means, it sounds like they are very similar. Enjoy your day off! That's awesome!!!! It sounds like you're definitely picking up the boxing technique. I'm sure it felt great to hear that from your trainer!! Keep it up!!
Yes, my little boy's mind is always going. He definitely likes to stay involved. If he's not, that's when he comes up with things to do that get him into trouble. You can see the spite in his eyes when he does something he know he isn't supposed to. It's all about attention!!! :) Thanks!! You have a great day as well!!
