I used to be very fit, I ran Cross-Country, Played Varsity Soccer, Performed Martial Arts, and I was very active in ROTC. Yet I could never really get to the level I wanted to be at. What I have always wanted to achieve was that Boxer's Build. That lean and muscular build. Could any1 help me come up with a work-out plan that actually will do that. So far nothing that I have tried ever worked, not2mention that I cannot go to a gym 5 times a week and work 60+ hours in a week, so my fitness has taken second seat to my job. But I am tried of not being as fit as I know I can and should be. Any help would be appreciated thanks

hi Magick3654, Welcome to ft! :) boxers are in a very delicate balance between intense cardio and some pretty good bodybuilding, and they have a really good diet that they stick to almost obsessively. Heed the advice of the nice people in this site. oh and give goldengloves a holler, his hands are wicked when wearing a glove.
also filling up your profile would do wonders, people will know more about you, your eating habits & exercise routines, etc...if they know more, then it's a lot likely that they can help you more. :dumbbell:

Good to have you here, majick3654! Yes, goldengloves is an awesome bundle of knowledge on boxing, do a search in the fitBuddy below, just put in "boxing" and you should find many posts from him and others.
I bought a 100lb bag and have been punching that with a strong program daily and it is unbelievable the results I am getting. You can burn up to 65 calories in three minutes! I have to be on my glider for 10-15 to burn that much, plus the resistance must help my muscles as my arms are really toning up well. I hang mine in a corner, though I have heard the standing ones work well, too. They are not expensive and I just wrap my hands well. I move around alot while boxing and have lost 2 inches in my waist and 2.5 in my abs, too, and an overall of 17.5 inches in four weeks. I will be adding the small punching bag soon as goldengloves made it look so challenging! I attribute it to boxing and weight training (I just purchased a small weight bench with leg and free weights) and eating well and most of what I've learned about what to do and how to do it right, I've learned here.
Good luck to you and hope you enjoy FT!
