Hi, I've been doing my own program for 2 weeks now.
Monday: Chest/Triceps
Tuesday: Legs/Abs
Thursday: Shoulders/Abs
Friday: Back/Biceps
Saturday: Basketball

I do three sets per muscle, 12 reps, then 10 reps, then 8 reps increasing the weight after each set. My question is how long should I stick to this program. I have heard that you should switch the number of reps after a few weeks and some people have told me to do pyramid after a few weeks. I get the basic concept but could somebody tell me what exactly pyramid is and give me an idea how to do it. How long should I continue this program?

stick with a program for 5 weeks, then pick a new program depending on your goals - set monthly workout/body goals and once you reach them, set new ones.

What have people told you a pyramid is? Do you mean pyramid sets/reps or is it some kind of workout you are referring to?

I mean pyramid sets. Like when you go up in reps then go back down. Can you explain that to me?
