mnshgrl, 150lbs is right on target for your height. i wouldn't go below 145 if i were you, that's just too thin. trust me, girls who are that skinny are not attractive. i am 6'0" and weighed 140 at one point in high school. i was a skeleton and had to go through a lot of very difficult times to get back to a healthy weight.
let me put this in purely calculated terms: your bmi is 22, which is a number typically considered to be the most aesthetically pleasing. the majority of america would love to be your weight. my suggestion is not to lose any weight, just concentrate on lifting to get that body in shape.

The above post was mine, as some of you might have guessed - since you may have read this same sermon before.

:laugh: I started out at about 190, and now I can lift so much more weight than when I started. I now weigh 165. That's 25lbs for you math majors, and I'm stronger. So, lifting weights will not always make you put on weight. And, if I may, I look a lot better while singing in front of the mirror in the mornings.

I was told your weight should be about 100 for 5 ft & 5 lbs for each inch you are over that so if you are 5' 10" then 150 is a good wieght for you. There are other factors but that is a good goal wieght.
I'm 5' 5" so 125 is my goal - I'm at 133 at this moment.

that calculation can be useful, reddy, but still can be misleading. according to that method i would be 11lbs overweight, and the majority of people who know me say i'm a "skinny white girl." if i lost 11 more lbs i'd be bordering on too thin.
inches are the ultimate measurement when it comes to judging one's own appearance. scales were invented to frustrate humans, not help them.
