Since joining ft I have become slightly addicted to working out. I have lost alot of weight in the past 2 months which is great! The gym that I have joined is closed on Sundays in the summer (welcome to Fargo, ND!) haha. Anyways I've been doing so good lately I am just itching to go out and do something today. I don't run very much because I had some knee injuries from basketball I don't want to re-aggrevate. And walking is boring. I do have a jumprope- I know that gets your heart going. Does anyone have any ideas for me? I'd appreciate any help I can get!

I can't say that I think the jumping rope thing is going to do your knee any favors. You could wash and wax your car, or my car. Clean out your closets, or again, my closets. Um, lemme see... how about miniature golf or my personal favorite, a nap? Swimming is always good, too.-------------- Anni ******* Hard work must have killed somebody |

Bailing hay is gooood! You would think that I would have suggested that, being surrounded as I am by all things farmy. Maybe she would like to write my comparative analysis paper on personality theories. It's certainly exciting. What about... No, family forum, can't suggest that.-------------- Anni ******* Hard work must have killed somebody |

I just got back from the park- found a friend who was in the same spot as I was so we went and shot hoops and did some basketball like drills to get us going. And now i'm going to mow the lawn. woohoo... and as much as I'd love to write your paper anni..... wait, nevermind, i don't like writing papers! :) Thanks for the option though. have a good one everyone

Glad you found a friend to play with and a nice outdoor activity. I just don't think people spend enough time in the fresh air and sunshine. -------------- Anni ******* Hard work must have killed somebody |

I have just started here on ft and my training week starts next week (the 20th) and my gym is only open three days next week because it is the University Gym and the holiday. It will only be open a couple of days during the second week of my program also ... I am on a five day a week program ... I am trying to get back in shape so I can join the Army again:surprised: and I don't want to ruin my program out of the starting gate:big_smile: ... can anyone suggest anything? I would appreciate it ....-------------- Tim \"Do or do not ... there is no try.\" -- Yoda (Always wise and venerable) |

bigandrew do you think that will solve my problem of the gym being closed ... I am thinking that on the days the gym is closed I will just run a predesigned route (there is a nice 2-mile route across the street from the gym -- I could also run around the campus there are plenty of routes) mainly because my program focuses on getting lean and toned?? :( I appreciate your comment dude ... I am also unsure about the diatray plan ft has designed for me ... My misgivings are because it says I need to eat 3730 calories a day made up of so much protein, carbs, and fat ... :) I understand some of the science behind this, but I just think I need to put my faith back in the science of weight loss and have some hardboiled eggs :laugh: ... You can run, but that is cardio. Definitely do that on your non-gym days.
What Andrew suggested is a way to get all of you "5-day" muscle groups worked out in the 3 days you have the gym availability. I was had to stay home and get things ready for work, xmas you know the stuff you do to make up an excuse not to go to the gym:(, well I felt guilty when I got to work and low and behold right behind my machine was a staircase, I took it two steps at a time, walk back down and was still able to get back to the parts coming off my machine, Wow felt in the hams and glutes:cool:-------------- THE NATURAL WAY IS THE ONLY TRUE PATH TO SUCCESS, PRIDE, JOY, HAPPINESS, LONG TERM FULFILLMENT AND SELF-ESTEEM! |

Thanks for the suggestions ... I walk enough at work (I am a hospital security guard and have to make hourly patrols for the entire campus) and that also involves steps because the hospital has six floors and a basement as well as a Medical Office Building that consists of five floors. I will use bigandrew's workout ... just need to print it.
