Are hamburgers bad for you? I mean the kind that you make on the grill yourself. I buy 93% lean hamburg. My buns I buy are low carb ones or whole wheat.
It seems lately that is all I have been eating cause it has been so hot and I don't want to use the oven.

Hope this helps. I love grilled burgers and will still eat them, just lean and few and further in-between. I eat everything on whole wheat now, too.

Large Bun - 150 calories
Lettuce Leaf - 10 calories
Onion slices - 10 calories
Tomato slices (3 thin or 2 thick) - about 15 calories
Cheese - 1 slice about 100 calories
Pickles - Allow 5 calories (Pickles are more of a health threat due to the sodium content than the calorie content.)

TOTAL WITHOUT MEAT: 290 calories with cheese and 190 calories without cheese

You may be able to subtract some of the cheese calories, depending on 1) if you want cheese on your burger and, 2) you choose a lighter calorie cheese.

Meat Calories:

Check your ground beef package which will contain the calorie content. Calorie content can differ up to 250 calories per serving, depending on the cut of the beef and how lean your purchase is. Use an inexpensive kitchen scale to weigh out your meat for total accuracy - or at least, as near to accuracy as possible.

Just basically watch how much saturated fat it contains.
My burgers which also states that it's 7% lean only has 8g fat, though I can't remember what the sat fat is.
