Is it OK to do a cardio work out the day after leg lifting. Like 30-45 minutes of running on my day of rest or is this best left for rest? thanks

Hi supe, I find it hard to do a cardio workout after my leg days. The reason is that I workout at night and I try to do my cardio first thing in the morning. I wake up with DOMS and its not that nice to go for a 30 min run with your legs sore.

My own advice: Try doing cardio first thing in the morning on leg days, then you can have your leg workout in the afternoon and you wont have to worry about cardio next day.

Hope this helps.

I find light cardio helps the soreness. Might be different for us older folk though.

FACT: Doing light reps may help you feel better b/c it can clear the lactic acid the builds in your muslces and cause sorness.

I don't know if it applies to cardio but it does to lifting.

I agree, Charlie, I actually do cardio every day right now, and it does help me not feel so "tightened up". If I don't I feel worse, but that is just what I have found works for me. I would warm up for a few minutes before taking the run and a good cool down after as oscarg is right and cardio does apply, too.
