hm sem like alot....I'd say start at 2000 calories....and see what that does.......heres how to do that
Write down what ya eat for about a month.....just calories if you prefere.......but i write down protein ,carbs and fats........if for a week you don't lose weight at 200 calories, back off to about 1900 calories, if you loose weight, then thats good. Keep the calories around 1900 every day.
Next i'd say train your whole body not just your arms, can't spot reduce so no use in wastingt he time. Weight train your whole body, maybe 3 times a week and cardio 4 times a week.........weigth traing will build more muscle, wich burns more calories, which helps keep body fat down!
and congrats on the 10lbs lost, but diet is key to losing weight, not just excercising.

Well remember that muscle burns calories faster, so don't be afraid to be gaining some muscle at the same time, it will help you to lose the fat more efficiently by maximizing your efforts (the same amount of exercise will burn more calories when you have more muscle).

That said, many people have stated that the calorie intake calculatore here is a bit high, I do not consume as much as indicated, I especially can't seem to get as many carbs into my diet as are recommended. I think 2731 seems rather high personally.

I have checked a variety of calorie calculators online and it appears there are two different formula's out there. Many use one close to the one here on ft, and come out around 2500 for you.

But there are several, including one at Body For Life, that indicate 1700 calories a day would be sufficient.

www.bodyforlife2.com/calorie_intake.htm

As everyone indicated above, no formula can replace listening to your body, tracking what you eat in a journal and then making adjustments based on your results.

There is more to your upper body than just your arms. You should be able to do back, shoulds, abs, bi's, tri's and chest with low impact on your knee.

Hmmm... I would drop the Granola Bars and replace it with some sort of veggy, or if you have access to a microwave, quick oats. Granola bars tend to have a lot of refined sugars in them.

Nothing wrong with walking, jogging, biking for cardio. You can do some pretty intense HIIT on a stationary bike. Remember though, weight training will help you lose weight better then any amount of cardio ever will.

Have you tried doctor'ing your oatmeal up with some of the suggestions on this site? If not do a search on it using fitBuddy and maybe give it a try.

i doctor mine up with a bit of apple/cinnamon stuff, just enough to taste it up a little, then I put a scoop of whey in there, and some splenda on top, for good measure. I can't stand the taste of plain oatmeal, but this way it is actually pretty good.

I_allen66, I posted some calorie formula's in the overweight - obese forum in case you would like some additional information, I, too, thought I was suppose to eat way to much and would just balloon up, these formula's are right in line with FT and show why it is important and so on.

David_s81's oatmeal is good, I don't have they whey yet, but I went and got Splenda, low cal applesauce and cinnamon and it is great, I don't even add milk anymore!

I use Quaker Oats. If your talking about serving size then it is a half a cup oatmeal before you add water. The oatmeal expands when wet and heated.
