I was wandering you if any of you have one and how do you have it set up.

I was looking at some stands today but they pretty expensive so I was thinking of putting something by myslef, but i do not want to hang it from the beams. (when you punch you can hear it in the whole house)

I ended up buying a wave bag - it is a heavy bag on a stand that you fill with water for counterweight. I previously had a heavy bag hanging from the I-beam in the basement, but as you said, it shook the whole house when you punched it. I like the wave bag, it kind of retreats a little as I drill on it and I can position the height of my opponent.

Mine wasn't too expensive - around $40-50.

Move to where their is one or open up your own...No J/K

The best thing you can do now is learn the basics of boxing do cardio and weight lifting...Buy a heavy bag get a rhythm going on that then move onto the elusive ball (I cant stress this enough that thing is godlike in boxing training now) Get yourself in top physical conditioning and hopefully by the time you are ready to step into the ring their will be one opened up somewhere

However if you are ever going to get good at boxing put all the weights and cardio aside and begin to spar right away.

Sparring is the best thing you can do to start boxing...Purchase some gloves and some headgear and go one on w/ family and friends for now (if they are willing)

If you have any more questions or would like me to set you up on some kind of regimen I would be more than happy to help you out in the boxing department.
