Good Morning Everyone!! How was your weekends?? Mine was good. Spent Saturday getting my sister in law ready for Prom, and spent Sunday sleeping!!! (not really) Today, I have my shorts and sweatshirt in the car, and my sneakers on. I will be doing weights today, and am going to continue to try and add 4 reps to each set of everything I do!!

Not so good. I was sick all weekend, and into yesterday. I have a play opening this Thursday and am stressed to the max about it. It'll be fine. I always get nervous before we open anything new...almost throw up nervous. Especially this one, since my character is only off the stage for about five minutes. I'll try to make it in this week, but next week starts the challenge on here, so I may take it easy and keep up the same diet this week.

Hi Everyone. I didn't make it to the gym over the weekend or monday (holiday in Canada), but I did work in the garden. Didn't break a sweat, but should have some nice tomatoes in a few weeks to show for it.

Hey Mutt - don't let a number get you down. It's just a number. I assume you know your % body fat. That's more important isn't it?

I bought the Prevention Running magazine over the weekend. It has a 12 week program to turn walkers into runners. I'm going to give it a shot. Starting today.

I did weights this morning. Chest and back. I think I pushed myself a bit harder than other times and it feels good.

Mutt is just preparing for the challange. I predict he will be lean and even meaner by August 1. Otherwise he will have to take a lot of torment from yours truly, the geezer!!

Hellos all. . . Well I haven't worked out since Friday. . . see my Thread "The Frustration Vent" for explanation. . . long story short I got sunburned to a blistered swollen pulp :( I am hoping to be able to get shoes on tomorrow and try my workout with a friend that is going to come over to workout with me. Figures I find a workout buddy a month before I move but oh well. Will let you all know how tomorrow goes!

Hi everyone. I did 40 minutes cardio last night after work, including the beginning of my 12 week running program.

I have to admit that I'm a bit frustrated. I've been at this for about 2 months, and although I haven't weighed myself, I don't feel much change in my clothes. My body feels different so I know there are muscles there, but I was sorta hoping that my clothes would be fitting different by now. I guess I'm just a slow loser. I'm not so frustrated that I want to give up or anything (I think I'm hooked on this). I just wish I could see some changes. I think I might need to increase my cardio like I did last night.

What kind of weight training are you doing.....remember that muscle takes up less space and there fore one main goal should be to make as much as you can of that. Try adding some time to lifting and see what happens...

Thanks Mutt. I'm following what the ft program set up for me. Which is about two exercises for each area once a week. I actually have decided to add one to each of those to spice it up a bit. I'm sure that will help because I never feel completely spent after the workout. I always feel like I could have done a little more. I guess I have too don't I.

The reason I mentioned adding more cardio is because I have time to do it and because I probably wasn't getting enough before.

I guess I'll kick things up a bit for the next two weeks and see what happens.

Make it for a month. 2 weeks is really not long enough to see real results. Go a bit heavier on the weights and add one day of cardio 3-4 days is usually enough...

Thanks again Mutt. I took your advice and increased the weight this morning at the gym. I sure felt the difference. I guess I'm still learning how far I can push myself.

Ok, Cheers for me!!! I did my work out yesterday. . . barefoot. . . but I did it! I was getting so cranky not being able to work out it felt SO good :dumbbell: Anyways. . . I also did my weekly measurements and even though I had to take a few days off for my sunburn still managed to lose 3.5 inches off my lower body!!! <1 inch off each thigh, 1 inch off my hips and .5 off my "pouch" on my tummy below my bellybutton> I am SO happy! Gonna do my work out again this afternoon with my new buddy, hope you all are doing well this week!

The weekend was spent with well earned pizza and some ice cream. Monday morning it was back on track though, hit the gym, reset my diet, and back to work. This week has gone well.

Good job Kyrah on the lost inches. I'm planning on joining Charlies % body fat challenge. I'll be measuring on June 1st and putting it into mybodycomp.com so hopefully I'll see that a few inches have disappear too since last time.

I hit the gym twice yesterday. Weights before work, cardio after. Today, I'll go after work. It's a day off for weights, but I'll go and do some cardio.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Kiddies, the challange deadline is Monday. See post to that effect in General Fitness board. Remember that rookies have an advantage here because the gains are so great when just starting out. Kyrah, we will miss you on this one but there will be another.
