Are you standing or sitting? For best results I have found this. My bro-in-law told me a new way to do bicep curls. It is the Arnold Swarz. way.
Sit down and have the back of the chair inclined back some. Not too far back and not too straight either. Just a slight incline back. Now bring your hands down to your sides with the dumbells. Feel the stretch, then do your curls one at a time. Now, honestly, my bro-in-law told me that I may have to decrease the amount of weight used. I didn't believe him but come to find out it is true. They are so hard and the next day you can really really feel it! I would give those a try!

How are you holding the dumbells? Are you putting your thumbs over or under? Some people say that they have issues with holding the thumb over the bar and that it causes their forarms to burn out fast. Try the thumbs on the under side with your fingers and see how that works for you. You can do that with vivavegas bicep workout as well.
Oh and she is right, you will have to decrease the weight. Those things are tough.

when you stand straight just relax and see how ur hands and palms face, thats the angle your meant to curl up from ur natural stance, thats what i believe is correct form for doing bicep curls, those incline curls r nice i find to viv, i like to superset them with standing barb curls

just keep your wrists locked and don't lean forward... keep your elbows in and don't swing them to help you bring the weights up... good luck...

Okay in specific this is how I start the curl. I start with my palms facing in to my thighs from a standing position, otherwise known as a neutral. As I curl up, I rotate my forearm so that my palm is facing up at the top of the movement. Throughout the movement i keep my elbows locked in one position.
Ive tried inclined curls and they do definately work THANKS for the advise "vivavegas02". But i still cant get my bicep pumped with straight dubmell curls
Also one more THING: WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM weight you all can lift when doing a bicep curl. Im 19 and for me it 35 pounds with 10 reps. How about you all?

From dumbells I can get 50-60lbs 6-8 reps for barbell I can hit 153x4 good reps.....but that is after almost 10 years of training.....just take it slow:big_smile:

7707mutt how much weight do you do for lying tri extentions?
and how much in pushdowns? are lying tri extentions betterfor reps or say 12? and low weights?? i never feel like im doing em right

I go up to 110 on the lying tricep ext trying for 8-10 reps. As for reps it depends on what you want to accomplish. As for pressdowns I never really count the weight as each pulley system is different, on one I can hit 140 on another 90 so it depends
