hello, i am a male, 16 yrs, 150 lbs, im having trouble sticking to a healthy diet, i always find myself munching on a piece of candy or some fast food. When im hungry my body is never in the mood to eat fruit or vegetables or anything healthy. What are some good tips on how to stay on a healthy diet without getting all these junk food urges?

Your blood sugars are out of whack...it is a vicious cycle. Eating sweets causes a rise in blood sugar, and an insulin response. This in turn lowers blood sugars very rapidly, and you get weak and hungry. Usually the hunger is fullfilled with something sweet. You thus end up eating more calories than normal also. The first step is simple, stop with candy and fast food.

eat a good hearty breakfast of oats , or whloegrain egg sandwich. Hey eat something that's about okay to eat!
Plan the eating pattern that suits you, with time and availability in mind. Write it down and stick to the optimum choices as best you can... Every cheat you do is not so bad. But say you crave your sweets after training- then eat a fruit and something protein as part of your timed eating patern around this.. Don't eat fruits and too many carbs of an evening to avoid putting on too much fat. Eat good protein before bed to sleep on your growing muscles(hopefully)...

I say out of sight, out of reach. I would get rid of all of the unhealthy snacks around you. That really helps...
BUT>>> What I do is this. I eat healthy all week long... Very strict with my diet. No cheating. Then on the weekends, well only two days, I have what I want. That way you look forward to it all week, having that pizza or ice cream on the weekends. It works for me and I know it has worked well for others.

I don't know about you but for me, when I eat carbs, I crave sweets. So I have a cup of tea or drink some water to help with it.

I do something like vivavegas02. All week watch it, then on Saturday...have something I want. Usually it's a Starbucks Frappachino or some other coffee drink. Or a slice or three of pizza. But, if I get too nuts, I pay for it the next day...lethargic feeling, etc. Or I might go out to eat somewhere different and have something off limits during the week. Sunday, though, I'm right back to it. It's helped so far.
