Would it be wise to attempt an HIIT workout for the ummmm larger then life person or should i just stick to a normal cardio?

I've never really seriously attempted an HIIT workout before but i like the sound of a serious cardio boost in minimal time with maximum benefits.

cheers

That's a really good question for your doctor.

Your profile indicates that you are not eating properly and not very interested in doing so. When you find the motivation to change and maintain your eating habits, which is not easy, the weight loss challenge will be much easier to tackle.

You are certainly on the right track with FT. There are lots of people here fighting the same battle and winning.

babyg25, tart with walking, add a few bursts of powerwalking. You should never be out of breath when you are exercising. You will build cardio endurance and stamina.

So a HIIT workout for you will be all about your personal iintensity levels, not a precribed machine resistance level.

Walk at an easy pace for 5-8 minutes,

Power walk and pump arms for 30 seconds (count to 60 in your head),

walk for a minute, breath!

Power walk for 30 seconds.

Walk for a minute.

power walk 45 seconds.

walk for a minute.

power walk 30 seconds.

walk for a minute.

power walk 45 seconds.

walk for a minute.

power walk 30 seconds.

walk 5-10 minutes, gradually slowing down to cool-down.

You can do this on a machine, bike, treadmill, elliptical, just go by your personal intensity. Don't ever get breathless and as you get fitter you can incraese the intervals a little.

Cleaning up your diet will have more impact than HIIT and weight training will give you the shape you desire, so you will look good when you get rid of the fat.

I work with a lot of very overweight women and they really see good results with a consistent ruotine and a good diet.

Yes that's exactly what I would recommend; HIIT walking!
No running and no impacts to start with but still changings in speed.
Walking is nice since you can walk around a lake, in the forest or even in the town. Take a good friend with you or bring a discman and listen to your favorite music.
Good luck!

from your personal info I see your not into fitness thing for 100%. My mom is the sam eway, she thinks a diet will make her lose weight.....yes it will for a while but she won't excercise. If your not willing to listen to the free trainers at the gym, then are you gonna listen to us? When you go into changing your body its not a half ass kinda thing. All or none I say.You have great goals, however if your not willing to listen, and aply your self, then what we say, and the trainers say is just going in one ear and out the other. I've been there and done this, wasn't tell i got serious about shit that I made a change. I appoligize if i'm being harsh, but thats the reality of things, you and only you can modivate yourself to get in shape and lose weight.
