benching - good for you for taking control at such an early age. And kudo's for saying you are willing to pack lunches, so many people use the excuse of not being in control of what is available.

At breakfast add 1 egg and 4 whites, scrambled.

If you can sneak in a snack mid-morning, that would be ideal. Something small like a protein bar or string cheese sticks.

PACK YOUR LUNCH! Whole grain bread (the first ingredient should be 100% whole wheat flour, no corn syrup or stuuf you can't pronounce), a little mayo, chicken breast or turkey breast (deli is okay), lwettuce, a side of vegetables, carrots if those are the only ones you like, broccoli/cauliflower if you will eat them, have them with a little dip if it helps.

At 2:40 have some protein - cottage cheese (I prefer 1%)is a good choice.

After training get a protein shake in within 1/2 an hour and you should see a difference pretty quickly. You can get protein powder most places now - look for whey protein.

At dinner - lean protein (check the post in the nutrition forum 'grocery list for a bodybuilder'), vegetables, olive oil, sweet potato or baked potato, or brown rice.

You could have cottage cheese before bed, if you are hungry.

Good luck!

I don't think you need any supplements other than a daily vitamin.

Also, benching you are in the beginning stages of working out and growing so your body will take everything and most likely convert it into energy. With many growth spurts in the wings for you, you don't have to have a very strict diet.

The earlier one learns proper eating habits, the more they become habits throughout life. This leads to a lifelong practice of good health and vitality. His willingness to do so is a giant plus. Proper diet is always essential. Asimmer is right.

I think that you totally missed what I said. It's good that he started dieting, but he is very young and his metabolism will burn everything up. He doesn't need to be on a strict diet. We need to remember his age.

The diet I am sugesting is in no way strict. eating a healthy diet is different than eating a strict diet. Not eating crappy, low quality foods isn't strcit, it is healthy. And the earlier you start on a clean diet and cut out junkfood, the healthier you will be the rest of your life.
I often wish someone had told me at a much earlier age how to eat better and exercise properly, imagine how huge i would be now!!!!
