we all have our rivals when it comes to losing weight, it took me a year or so to ween myself off of soda drinks. i used to drink 2-3 a day and now i maybe drink one a month. since i have quit i have lost weight much easier. i was wondering what were your guys biggest rivals keeping you from losing weight as far as food and drink goes?

My biggest rival is that I don't get enough calories, and therefore don't lose weight. I am trying to force myself to eat more, but after living on 800-1000 calories a day for almost 3 years, it is very difficult:(

Ahh wings....Wings are actually real healthy for ya...Once I eat all the sauce off of them, I don't feel guilty at all.:( Work hard, and schedule those nice rewards, but be prepared for the gastric consequences.:surprised:excuse me!

Fast food burgers. Couldn't walk or drive by! They smell sooo good. Now, after cheat day/meal, I'm actually CRAVING my "healthy" foods. Weird how that happens.

Before it used to be chocolates!
Now I have to control my cottage cheese and almonds!

There is always something, I am bound to crave. No matter how I change my diet. Just have to control the portion.

Gotta go with the ice cream. I don't need it as much as I used to...now I only have some every other cheat day (Saturdays for me). That way, I know if I want some, it's never more than six days away. Great, now that's all I can think about. :)

xxgolemxx..in answer to your question about the caloric intake for weight loss..if you eat too little calories your body will go into starvation mode, and save every bit of food you put into your mouth as fat. In order to get your metabolism to start working properly you need to eat more than what I was eating for such a long time.

Yo xxgolemxx,

My rivals: Cheese, chocolate, pasta, pizza, ice cream (most cartons show 1/2 cup as a serving LOL! That cracks me up!), homemade breads, big fat T-bones done medium rare, bleu cheese salad dressing, jelly beans, and virtually any dessert on the face of the Earth (unless they've invented a dessert made from lima beans).

Re: your vanilla protein powder dilemma - try adding a small amount of any flavor sugar-free Jello (or similar). Staring with a vanilla base, you can have lots of different flavors that don't taste too bad. I buy the 10-pound bag of vanilla O.N. 100% whey, then add a little strawberry jello, or raspberry jello, or lime, or orange, or lemon, one shake at a time. I save by buying in bulk, and I don't really get bored with just one flavor. This is not a good idea, though, if you are a vegetarian or if you have problems with nutrasweet or other artificial sweeteners.

Outback's Cheese Fries with bacon and ranch dip. . . but for the first time in 2 years I went to Outback with my hubby Friday and /cheer I didn't order them!!! I ate my Chicken Salad with fat free dressing and drank my diet Coke! Ahh the feeling of Victory over fried foods!

Cristal, go eat somthing.

Seriously though, mine is pizza. And Cristal is absolutly right about the not eating enough thing. That puts your body on the fat storage mode for sure.

If you eat the 5 or 6 meals a day suggested here and eat the right kinds of food in the proper proportion, you will find that the really bad cravings subside. Your metabolism will speed up and you will lose the fat
